Kiran’s Full Bio

Education: After living in Washington D.C. and New Delhi, India, Kiran attended the Maret School in Woodley Park before enrolling and graduating from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelors of Science in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Economics. Inspired by one statistics professor in particular, Kiran was awe-struck by the elegant manner in which his educators would explain complex and abstract mathematical concepts and turn them into tangible tools that industry professionals use in real-world situations. Kiran completed both theoretical and practical math coursework, becoming well-versed in quantitative subject matters.

Experience: Kiran tutored 9 various undergraduate math courses ranging from “Intro to College Math” to “Vector Calculus” at UCSD, both individually and in small group settings, for two years. After graduating, he worked with a small startup in the EdTech sphere and continued tutoring math and physics online, locally, until joining MLS Educational Consultants in 2024.

Specialties: Kiran specializes in tutoring students in all levels of math, ranging from middle school to the undergraduate level, including AP statistics. He emphasizes understanding the underlying principles behind formulas and concepts, rather than accepting them at face value or using them without grasping their meaning. In addition, Kiran enjoys teaching physics. Kiran also specializes in standardized test preparation and works with preparing students for the SAT, ACT, and high-school admissions tests including the SSAT, ISEE, and HSPT.
