He completed minors in Geophysics, Computational Analytics, and Mathematics. His undergraduate research in Geophysics, titled: “Using Electrical Resistivity to Constrain a Newly Discovered Cave System,” became his Honors Capstone project and led him to graduate with Honors in Geophysics. In this project, Ricky used Geophysical techniques to determine the boundaries and verify the existence of a previously unknown maze-cave system as well as a potential entrance for a future expedition.

Here, he worked with students during class to help with in-class and group assignments. Ricky also worked as a Physics Tutor at the Science and Math Learning Center where he became a certified College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Level 1 and Level 2 Tutor. Ricky also worked as a Youth Volunteer Worker at his church, where he mentored and interacted with students in the middle school and high school age range. Ricky has always been interested in understanding the logic behind things he experiences and has sought to apply it in tutoring by approaching problems in different lenses.
