Patrick’s Full Bio

Education: A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Patrick majored in Computer Science at Connecticut College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2015. After college, he took a two-year AmeriCorps position at the Vancouver (WA) Housing Authority directing youth employment initiatives.

Experience: Patrick knows that the path to college is not always straight, as he deferred matriculating for one year to work full time and gain maturity before attending college. Patrick has participated in youth engagement programs since high school, including directing a middle school engagement club, tutoring in high schools, mentoring through college, and finally working at AmeriCorps and MLS. Since October of 2017, he has been at MLS, working with students in higher level STEM subjects as well as advising on computer technology hardware and software needs and intricacies. He skillfully advises students and staff alike in this area so critical to current education. In 2019, Patrick took the position of managing academic sessions. 

Specialties: Patrick excels with computer science, math through calculus, and AP Statistics, and has enjoyed tutoring in sciences including chemistry and physics, English up through AP Language, as well as building executive function and study skills. He also directs the MLS Summer Coding Camp.
